What They Do

The Rifles Benevolent Trust exists to support Riflemen and their families who are facing hardship. That could be the result of injury, illness, financial strain, or the everyday challenges that come with life after military service.

Their help is tailored and responsive. They issue grants for essentials like mobility aids, housing improvements, and household costs; things that make a real, immediate difference. They also support mental health services and long-term recovery for those affected by trauma.

Whether someone served for months or decades, this charity ensures that their commitment is honoured with dignity and support.

Why This Matters to Me

I know what it's like to leave the military with more questions than answers. The shift into civilian life can be tough; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Not everyone has a safety net. That’s why this charity matters.

The Rifles Benevolent Trust doesn’t waste time. They step in when people need help most. Quietly, practically, and effectively. That’s what real support looks like.

As I work toward the Explorer’s Grand Slam, I’m using each expedition to shine a light on organisations that do this kind of essential, often invisible work. It’s not just about reaching the South Pole or another summit. It’s about carrying people with me.
